To that end, we have established two units:[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”hightlitedcontent”]The International Law Support Unit, ILSU<\/span>:[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”ncontent”]With a mandate of equipping Syrian NGOs – including victims, survivors and families\u2019 associations and women-led organizations – with self-sufficient capacity in international law to conduct their legal and advocacy efforts, to accomplish their mission in fighting impunity creatively, and fully exercise and fulfill their rights to truth, justice and remedy<\/span><\/i>.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”91″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text el_class=”ntitle” css=”.vc_custom_1718128850946{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]International Law Support:[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”ncontent”]ILSU assists SNGOs\u2019 in understanding the role and potential of international law in the pursuit of justice for Syria, and builds their capacity in utilizing international law within their legal and advocacy efforts in an effective and creative manner. Through SLDP\u2019s combined knowledge of the conflict, the economic situation in Syria, and business and human rights norms, SLDP provides INGOs and UN agencies with support on developing Syrian context-specific human rights due diligence for procurement activities in Syria.<\/span>[\/vc_column_text][\/vc_column_inner][\/vc_row_inner][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1\/3″][vc_single_image image=”96″ img_size=”full” alignment=”center”][\/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”2\/3″][vc_column_text el_class=”ntitle” css=”.vc_custom_1718128986231{margin-bottom: 0px !important;}”]Seeking Accountability Through Sanctions Regimes:[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”ncontent”]As judicial accountability and transitional justice mechanisms are long-term activities, SLDP seeks the imposition of sanctions against perpetrators of business-related human <\/span>rights abuses in Syria as an interim accountability measure.
